Aggies Abroad - July 2025

This flagship study tour is for individual students and focuses on Innovation and Sustainability in New Zealand’s Agriculture industries. It is for those who wish to learn from some of the most innovative and globally recognised agriculturalists, innovators and researchers.

Including the most popular visits voted as #1 by recent agricultural science students.

Travelling throughout the country for 16 days at a fast pace and accompanied by local Faculty, the following industries and topics will be selected according to the interests of participants:

  • Dairying
  • Merino high country farming (meat and wool)
  • Deer
  • Beef
  • Lamb
  • Viticulture
  • Stock judging
  • Animal sciences
  • Cropping
  • Horticulture
  • Sustainable pasture-based food production
  • Preservation of natural habitats and wetlands
  • Regeneration
  • Soil and water resources
  • Agricultural public policy and communications

The program includes farm and station visits; studies in the field and site visits, demonstrations, innovative best-practice and research projects; lectures at New Zealand’s leading agriculturally / land-based university; meetings and forums with local agricultural students and graduates and agricultural industry representatives.  Work experience placements can be arranged at the conclusion of the tour.

Of course, you cannot visit New Zealand without experiencing some adventure – there will be some adventure and tourism included!

Applicants must be enrolled tertiary students in agricultural sciences at degree level.
