Join our Spirit of New Zealand high school program – an experience of a lifetime

Experience the Spirit of New Zealand and youngest country on earth that is 100% pure.  We combine learning with field studies, team leadership, environmental and conservation management, life skills, adventure and some magical sightseeing to give participants a most memorable and life changing experience.

It is ideal for the  independent travelling student to join or as a customised program for school groups with accompanying supervisors from 8 days.



Registration is open to all eligible high school students from aged 14 to 18. Registrations close 90 days before commencement.



The next Spirit of New Zealand Study Tour, 12 days in-country commences June 2020. We apologise for this inconvenience but the dates clash with our flagship Youth Leadership Program to be held in Christchurch 2019.


The Program

This educational study tour and journey of discovery to the youngest country on earth starts in Christchurch city  and travels through the rugged and beautiful South Island to reflect a range of educational and adventure experiences. It ends in Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world.

We explore local

  • cultural heritage
  • marine and/or wildlife conservation
  • whale watching
  • environmental sustainability and ecotourism
  • Southern Alps mountainous range
  • walk the Routeburn track or visit Milford Sound

We discuss and debate

  • team leadership and development skills

  • cross cultural understanding
  • career, work and study pathways
  • being workplace ready

We have fun and meet new lifelong friends

Customised study tours for schools

We welcome requests to work directly with schools, colleges and agencies to host the above tours or  design a tailor made tour to meet your special needs. We cover a wide range of topics, activities, field trips and site visits, education campus and school visits, service learning and community engagement,  adventure and sightseeing tours.  Age from 14 years (under 14 years on request and special circumstances).   Start dates available  year round and length from 8 days.
