  Internship Program

Our internships are genuine educational placements for current students to support your studies and enhance career opportunities through a structured and supported experience with committed host companies.

  • Minimum 4 weeks to maximum 12 weeks (longer if required by university)
  • Throughout New Zealand
  • Begin with 3 day orientation program to cover  important issues about living and interning in a foreign country
  • Next start dates with vacancies are 18 December 2017 and 28 May 2018
  • Placement must be in the field of your studies or where you have had some experience so that you can genuinely contribute, train and learn from the host company
  • If this is a requirement of your studies we can work with your university and ensure you use the right visa (and not compromise a return working visa opportunity)
  • We can assist with credit earning options
  • Host companies are fully briefed and committed to internship training experiences
  • English classes available before commencement
  • Placements in a wide range of industry and professional fields to meet training and international experience needs
  • Extensive program services list including first five nights housing, first morning breakfast, full orientation program, airport pickup, support and emergency contact throughout the program, certificate of completion and letter of reference

 

Voluntary Service Program

  • Minimum length three weeks (including orientation)
  • Assignments  available throughout New Zealand in a wide range of fields including environmental  protection, conservation and management. Restoration and community projects, remote island clean ups, service to the needs of special children, the homeless and elderly
  • Teachers or trainee teachers welcome to support environmental education programs in schools
  • Begin with an orientation program to cover important issues about living and volunteering in a foreign country
  • Next start dates with vacancies are 18 December 2017 and 28 May 2018
  • Extensive program services including first five nights housing, first morning breakfast, full orientation program, airport pickup, support and emergency contact throughout the program, certificate of completion and letter of reference

 

 

Environmental management

Orientation program

This is compulsory for all participants and held in Auckland. It is a four day orientation to living, interning and volunteering in a foreign country plus one day meeting and briefing with host company.  We cover

  • New Zealand, the country and the Kiwi custom and culture
  • Special cultural immersion experience with the indigenous people, Maori
  • Walking tour of Auckland city
  • Housing during orientation
  • Fun group activities and group dinner
  • Guidance and time to make arrangements for the remaining few weeks with the help of locals
  • Understanding local services
  • Special workshops to reflect your work or project. Internship topics cover employment law, rights and responsibilities of interns and host companies, work place issues and difficulties, important information to support your work, professional topics, making the most of your time in New Zealand
  • One day briefing with your host company or organisation

 

You can also join a study tour and stay longer for voluntary service or internship experience

For each study tour, university and college students may choose to stay longer and complete an internship, community service or  Shadow a Leader (for Global Leaders) observation placement.
